FOREVER YOUNG: In loving memory...

This page is for you to identify and share thoughts about those from the class of 1983 who have passed.   Thank you in advance for your care of and respect for this page.

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

For those whom may not be aware. Paul Fulop passed away of a heart attack in June of 2016. Sorry for the lack of words regarding the loss of such a great friend. Just wanted to post this up in case others were not aware.

Good day everyone,
Be careful out in this world because it sure is a lot different than the world we grew up in. I remember the old man always telling me he could not understand our generation and the way we thought and did things. Well guess what? I can not understand the generation my kids are growing up in so I finally understand what he meant. These kids today get out of bed at 9 and if they show up for work it is between 10 and 12. Then if they do not get to do what ever they want they move on. The world seems to work that way with all the electronics going on in the world. The bad thing is being into crime investigations and missing children the electronic world has created a simple way to take advantage of and rob everyone of our freedoms we use to love. I never thought twice 30 years ago about giving my number out or an address. I never thought twice about going to meet someone to sell a car. Today, it just would never happen. I would never invite someone over to buy a gold dollar, I would never meet someone on the back roads to buy a dirtbike even if I do conseal. What a scary world we live in. It took me until I was 51 to get my degree in criminal justice and all I can tell you is besides the stuff we hear about it is a lot worse than we think. Sorry I ramble when I get started but serous stay safe and no drinking and driving the law does not let us go home and sleep it off any more either.

Unfortunately, I have a couple names to add to the list:
David Schoen (went to Oak Park and SJHS, but graduated elsewhere)
James "Jim" Turnblad (also went to Oak Park and SJHS, but graduated elsewhere)
Numerous classmates can verify these.

Linette Miller died in a small plane crash somewhere in Wisconsin  (I forget where and when, but I think it was at least 20 years ago, if not more).

Was Dan Posthumous in our class or younger than us?  I remember him from band.  I knew of his passing through my mom.  I recall going to visit him in the hospital. I can't remember the details, if had been from an accident or illness. But it was very sad. He was far too young, as well.

It's never easy to learn of our classmates passing, so let's celebrate the time we had with all of them.

Wow things really happen in life to make it hard on people such as young ones passing. I had a brother Al that passed in 1998 at the age of 32 and it still sucks today. One thing I have learned is I tell my 18 year old son and he tells me every night we talk that we love each other and that is tough for a dad and son but we have always done it and I like it that way. God bless all the families that have lost the loved ones because no matter what people say it always hurts
Lisa Sebastiano on May 18, 2013 8:22 AM
It certainly was sad to read  about all  the cllassmates above so young and I remember Dan Ludowese and his twin brother the most since we grew up in the same neighborhood. I remember how sweet Jennie Schoenecker was always.
I to had my beautiful sister Michele Sebastiano pass away just last year; it is no doubt the most difficult time in my life. The grief is something that I wish others never have to go through.
Take care and it's good to catch up and see how everyone's lives are today.
Lori Hanley on June 1, 2013 11:56 PM
I am so very sorry to hear about Michele. I remember her from school and she was one of the nicest people I knew. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I have more info on each of them, but here are the dates. There are not obituaries available for any of them that were in the 80s, but most in the 90s and later are available. Let me know if you need any of them.  --Lori

Kirk to answer you question Scott Becken had cancer, Kristi Eichten car accident, Michael Johnson car accident with Jeffrey Miller they passed away a month apart, Daniel Kiesow a Motorcycle accident by his house, Dan Ludowese was paralyzed the summer after high school diving into the river, but died 3 years ago I believe, John mariana was Paralyzed in a motorcycle accident but died this past Feb. Or march I heard that it was cancer that took his life. Jenny Nelson in 11th grade at swim meet. Jenny Schoenecker had m.s. and past away in 2011 on valentines day, Paul Sletten died of a heart attack when he was 30. John Winslow died in 2011 of a heart attack.
There are a few I don't know I hope I am correct on all of these, but to my knowledge I believe they are all correct.

Wow, I hate to see those who go too early!  I don't remember all the names on the list but I do remember Gini very well.  A kind hearted well liked girl.  I would like to know what happened to her. If anyone knows?

kerry murphy on April 23, 2013 12:16 PM
i consider it an honnor to have known a few people on this list, and although some days i cant believe im still alive. all i can say is tell someone in your life how much they mean to you and never take life for granted . god bless.

Kirk Pederson on April 22, 2013 9:57 PM
Sad to see so many of our classmates are no longer with us.  I remember that Mike Johnson and Kris Eichten were killed in car accidents shortly after graduation.  I also heard that Dan Ludowese was paralyzed in a diving accident and died two or three years ago, presumably from complications from his accident.  Does anyone know what happened to the other people on the list?
Mark Burrs on June 8, 2017 3:17 PM
Jeff Millet was with Mike Johnson in the car. They passed away together.
Helen Kainz on July 25, 2018 5:10 PM
Jeff was with Mike and passed in the hospital shortly after. So sad that we have lost so many of our class. Thoughts and prayers are with the families of our classmates that have lost loved ones.
Cindy Smith-Mills on May 13, 2013 7:14 PM
Jeff Miller also died in the car accident with Mike Johnson during high school.

Tanja Washburn on April 16, 2013 12:42 PM
Wow I can't believe all the names I remember. I guess I feel pretty lucky to have survived my heart attack and amputation. Sorry to hear so many have passed.
